Products

Edit a product's information, units, supplier constraints, quotas, forecast strategy and inventory strategy.

The Products page lists every product of your sites. Open a product to change what drives its planning: its units of measure, its supplier constraints (lead time, minimum order quantity), its quotas between suppliers, and its forecast and inventory strategies.

Where it is: Settings > General > Products. The All products list shows the Site and the Name of each product. Search by name or reference, and use the Sites filter to show one or several sites. Click a product to open the Edit Product Details window.

You do not need to leave Demand or Planning to edit a product. On a product page, click Show details (the info icon) to open the Product Details panel, then click Edit (the pencil icon). The same Edit Product Details window opens. See Demand and Planning.

The tabs of a product

  • Info: reference (Ref), Name, Description, Shelf life, Units of measure and Product lifecycle dates. Supply Strategy shows MTS or MTO and is read-only. Sites with the Pricing module also see the Selling Price and the Price position.

  • Events: the forecast events linked to the product. See Create and apply forecast events.

  • Tags: the tags of the product. Add or remove tags, or click Add tag to create one.

  • Suppliers: one card per supplier with its constraints.

  • Quotas: how orders are split between suppliers.

  • Forecast strategy: how the demand forecast is built.

  • Inventory strategy: how supply is planned. Not shown on supplier collaboration portal sites.

  • Bom: Parent products and Child products of the product. Only on subcontracting sites.

Good to know

  • The weekdays on which goods can be received are set for the whole site, in Delivery days. See Sites.

  • Fields that come from your ERP or another system are locked, and a tooltip says so. Ask your Customer Success Manager if they need to change.

  • Strategy changes need the right permission. Without it, Save is disabled and a tooltip explains why.

  • When a product has validated changes in Tactical, its strategy fields are locked and show Locked by tactical changes.

  • Users who can edit products can also delete one with Delete Product, at the top of the window. This button only shows when you open the product from Settings > Products.
